2009 Sam-Giovese Sangiovese Grosso, Merlo Vineyard, Dry Creek Valley Bottling Date: 9/12/10 All our 2009 wines were done in partnership. The description is based on our personal tastes, and the labels shown here will only be on our share of the bottles. 
We were unable to influence harvest time, so it came in high at Brix 26º. Our target is 24.5 - 25, but the wine is delicious anyway. Probably because it's the grosso. More substance and strength. Anyway, by the time we bottled this was very drinkable and has been completely stable in bottle. We've already whipped through several bottles.
